Yonex Astrox 99 Play

The Astrox 99 Play is the entry point to Yonex's most aggressive racket line. It borrows the head-heavy weight distribution of the Astrox 99 Pro that Momota and Kento's generation made famous, then softens the shaft so club players can actually load it.

Head-heavy balance puts the mass out in front of your hand, so the racket does more of the work on a smash. The medium flex shaft bends more readily than a tour frame, which means you don't need a professional shoulder to get the head moving. At 4U (around 83g) it stays quick enough for defence and doubles flat exchanges.

Best for beginner and improving intermediate players who want to build an attacking game. If you already smash hard and want a stiffer, more demanding frame, look at the Astrox 99 Game or Tour instead.
