Yonex Nanoray 18 I

The Nanoray 18i is an entry-level racket from Yonex's older Nanoray line, the recreational and speed-focused family that Nanoflare has since taken over as Yonex's current speed range.

At 5U it's one of the lightest rackets Yonex has made, which makes it easy to swing for long sessions and easy on the wrist for a beginner still building strength. The balance sits slightly head heavy and the shaft is flexible, so the racket helps generate clears and smashes rather than demanding a developed swing. It's rated to 30 lbs, well above what a beginner will actually need, so there's room to grow into it.

Good for junior and adult beginners who want the lightest possible racket to learn with. It's not built for fast, competitive doubles - if speed and net play are what you're after as you improve, the current Nanoflare 700 Play is the better long-term choice.
