Yonex GR 303 I

The GR 303i is one of Yonex's most basic rackets, and it's worth being upfront about that: this is an aluminium head paired with a steel shaft, not the graphite construction used across the Astrox, Nanoflare and Arcsaber lines.

Even balance keeps the racket neutral in the hand rather than pushing you toward attack or defence, and the stiff steel shaft doesn't flex much, so power has to come from your own swing rather than the frame doing the work for you. The aluminium head also caps how tight it can be strung - up to 20 lbs, well below what a graphite racket takes, because the frame isn't built to hold higher tension without warping.

This is a racket for casual, first-time or social players who want a genuine Yonex for the lowest possible outlay, not for anyone working on technique or chasing more control and power. Once you're past hitting the shuttle back and forth and want a frame that rewards better technique, move up to a graphite racket - the Astrox 01 Clear or Arcsaber 2 Clear are the natural next step.
