Li-Ning Halbertec 8000

The Halbertec 8000 is close to the top of the line, a stiff, elite-level control frame for players who hit hard and don't need the frame to soften anything for them.

It's built on a T1100 carbon frame with a 6.8mm hard-flex shaft, noticeably firmer than every model below it in the range, and it sits right on the boundary between even and head-heavy balance depending on the source - closer to neutral than the 9000, but with less give than the 6000 or 7000. Strung up to 30 lbs, it rewards a fast, technically clean swing with a crisp, direct response, but it will feel harsh and unforgiving in the hands of anyone still developing consistent contact.

This is a racket for an advanced or elite player who wants precision and pace and already has the technique to control a stiff frame. It's not for intermediate players chasing more power than they can currently control - drop back to the 5000 or 6000 for a more forgiving feel at a similar tension ceiling. Against its closest neighbours, the 8000 is firmer and more demanding than the 7000, and sits just under the 9000, which pushes the stiffness and shaft technology even further.
